The Resort

Family and Snowbird Paradise

Just two hours west of San Antonio, we’re easy to get to.

Texas Route 55 will lead you right to our gate. Camp Wood has an average of 230 sunny days annually and ZERO snowfall. Our average temperatures in winter are in the 60’s and our average annual temperatures in the 90’s. It’s pleasant weather year-round. So Snowbirds, leave your mittens behind and enjoy your dream vacation any time of the year.

Relax on our quarter-mile of riverfront along the Nueces River, where the sparkling water is as clear as glass. Less than a mile upstream is the outflow of the Nueces Dam. Drop-in your tube or kayak and relax on the lazy river back to camp. Explore the river, fish, and watch the native Texas river wildlife! Get to know the local swimming holes where you can jump from a cliff or just relax in a cool, clear river.

You’ll appreciate features like the smooth streets – just right for easy strolling and bike riding under the tall, shady trees. Friendly neighbors and helpful folks in the office make every moment at Nueces River RV and Cabin Resort a delight.

"Love the concrete pads and pull through sites, ours was #17. The pool is huge and beautiful area to relax with shade awnings with chairs and lounges along with kid splash area, very well maintained. They also have a great basketball court and volleyball area with access path to the Nueces River. Nice area to bike around Campground. Our dogs enjoyed the walks and river along with the dog run they have. Its quite and beautiful views. Will definitely be returning Campers!!!"

"We had the best time! We went for a small family vacation and accidentally found this place online. We stayed in one of the shelters which is enclosed with AC and electricity. It is clean, quiet and very comfortable! A little bit of a walk to the river but not far and TOTALLY worth it! Really nice pool and the public bathroom/shower facilities are kept very clean. A short drive to cafes and convenience stores. We are already planning a trip back!"

"We love the cabins! We've stayed in smaller ones and have also taken the extended family and rented the ones with multiple bedrooms. Always clean, nice place to take a shower and prepare a meal after a day outdoors. We usually stay here when we are hunting - it's nice to come back to a warm room on cold days. The people are awesome. Helpful and accommodating and they remember us."
